Fleet Sensor range

It is always good to carry a Sensory Array with you in your fleet, it gives you extra sensor range. (50 LY). standard sensor range radius of fleet: 150LY with sensory array: 200LY That helps you detect other stars, and enemy fleets, sooner.

Colony Sensor Range

Once you have landed on an LSP

you will sometimes notice that immediately some more stars become visible. That is cause, since your fleet has a sensor range of 200LY radius, and the colony establishment has a 350LY sensor range (except your spawn planet, for which you need 100 PhD's to enable sensors), this means more stars will become visible, and Ergo targetable, as you continue to conquer.

fastest growth

A lot has been discussed on how to make your empire grow in the quickest way possible.

here is a tip based on my experience (from a conversation with another player):

.... one thing I saw that arrested your growth is that 12% tax

my growth was 200 fleets , even at 0.92 within 10 days I had 50 planets waiting to be colonized, so I grew horizontally, whereas you are trying to maximize population growth (vertical growth), I just bought a shitload of planets as fast as I could (all G1's), and left them always at 37% . I reached 10k PhDs with most of my planets G1's. I only abandon them when they are at 990MH which started to happen last week, but now its easy to titor them out.

I reached maximum PhD's in year 2547 which at the time of round 2, was 26 days from start. And another player beat me by a few days !

optimum use of relic propulsion

Since the RELIC propulsion systems are LIMITED , the best way to get LOTS OF FLEETS running with that propulsion is as follows:

create a fleet on your planet and put say 50 of each of these types ships in it (using the STANDARD (not RELIC) propulsion)

  • Colony ships Ship Type # In Fleet
  • Treasury Transport
  • Survey Team Scout
  • Engineering Crew Transport
  • Construction Machinery Transport
  • Colonist Transport
  • [ Military ships ] Ship Type # In Fleet
  • Sensory Array
  • Remote Communications Relay
  • Electronic Countermeasure Pod
  • Fleet Interdict Unmanned
  • Raider
  • Zette
  • [ Mining ships ] Ship Type # In Fleet
  • Ore Transport

This ship combination ensures you have ALL SHIPS NEEDED to colonize and most importantly to CREATE MILITARY ANCHORAGES

So, now, once you are done filling up the fleet with ships, you DISBAND IT , once it is disbanded, you will see your space port is full of ships, and then you create another fleet, and this time you choose RELIC propulsion. And you add ALL SHIPS to that fleet IN ONE GO !

Once that is done, you leave your planet in any direction, and about 7 or 8 years later, stop the fleet and CONSTRUCT a MILITARY(private) ANCHORAGE !!!

in that anchorage, you can then disband your fleet again, and then make LOTS of little fleets with one ship of each class ! You will notice that in the anchorages, SHIPS KEEP THEIR PROPULSION

research tip getting phds

To utilize your money in the best way to get PhD's, do this:

open in one browser tab, TACTICS -> TOOLS then in abother browser tab, play with those numbers on any planet update/reload , and you will see how the numbers are calculated.

Also in the HELP menu, under Player Attributes, you can see the COST PER PHD, a chart, which tells you how much each PhD costs, which depends on how many PhD`s yu already have.

important is the YELLOW number in the TOOLS, which indicates how much money you are WASTING (i.e. sending to research bbut going out the window) . to keep that percentage as low as possible (say 1-2%) is okay.
