This rulebook applies to ALL servers of the Bunker Gaming Community. Server specific, additional rules can be found in the respective forums at bunker.aaxxss.com. By playing on our servers, you agree to have read and understand the Bunker Gaming Rulebook. All players - guests, members, and admins alike - must abide by these rules.

Bunker Gaming Rulebook - 29-SEP-2006

No Spawnkilling (SK) or Spawncamping (SC)

  • SK is considered killing or damaging a player inside or within a prone player's length of their spawn area, which is the entire area where players can re-spawn.
  • SC is when a player shoots while standing within their own spawn area, and should not be confused with hanging around an enemy's spawn and shooting them when they come out. That's called "major stompage" and is allowed.

Exceptions to the SK & SC rule

  • The SK/SC rules do not apply to capturable spawns (flags, CP-owned spawns, etc.), as long as the player is actively attempting to capture/defend the spawn. Use of artillary, mortar, air strikes or panzers are not to be used in the attack of or defense of the capturable spawn.

No Teamkilling (TK) or TeamBleeding (TB)

  • Intentionally killing or wounding a teammate is forbidden. Indirect TKs, such as jumping on a mortar as he fires and killing you, him, and anybody in the general vicinity, is also disallowed. Accidental TKs are usually forgiven, though an admin may punish a player for too many TKs at their own discretion.

No Misconduct (can be any of the following)

  • Excessive swearing, cursing, or lewdness in any language.
  • Racist or sexist comments, particularly when directed at an individual player.
  • A covert op owns the uniform of the enemy they kill. You may not push them out of the way to claim it for your own.
  • Pushing your teammates off of high ledges or into a pit.
  • XP Whoring – bleeding for medic XP, destroying and rebuilding CPs for engineer/covert up XP, etc
  • Sitting by a Mortar and giving him ammo is allowed.
  • Playing with a name that is intentionally and/or directly offensive. (e.g. racist, disparaging to women, vulgar)
  • Pushing a mortar or MG (unless they are blocking a doorway or sitting in spawn).
  • Intentionally impeding your teammates by blocking doorways or preventing doors from opening, disarming friendly landmines or dynamite, etc.
  • While not explicitly outlawed, farming (doing nothing but standing around tossing out ammo packs) is generally frowned upon. Get out there and help your team! Feeding mortars, however, is encouraged.

No Name Stealing

Name stealing is playing with the exact same name or a slight variation of the name of a player who plays regularly on the Bunker servers. PunkBuster bans players for five minutes if they use the same name as a player already on the server.

If a player pretends to be someone else and is caught, they will be banned permanently, no questions asked, and only un-banned if proven innocent.

No Tag-Stealing

You may not wear the |>B<| tag unless expressly invited to do so as a result of a successful invitation poll by high-ranking Bunker administrators. Tag stealers are banned immediately on sight.

No Advertising

Advertising and recruiting by any individuals, groups or organizations regarding something not a part of or affiliated with BunkerGaming is strictly prohibited.

  • If a recruiter from a clan wishes to recruit a regular from the server, he is welcome to do so only with private messages (/m [player] [message]).

No Cheating / Exploiting

Bunker servers are Punkbuster-enabled, and cheating or hacking will result in a permanent ban if you are caught. Currently all Bunker servers stream to PBBans.com (a third party anti-cheat group). If you are issued a pbban you will be permanently banned from all Bunker servers without exception. If you do get a pbban you may appeal it at PBBans.com

Exploiting is considered using a fault in the game or map to your advantage. A good example of an exploit is on the map oasis, where at two locations you can virtually sink into the ground and be hidden from view, yet still be able to shoot at enemies. Other map exploits that are not allowed: mortaring through the roof of the first bunker on supplydepot2, hiding inside the pillars of resurrection, hiding underneath the ammo hut on saberpeak, etc etc

Scripts and Codes

Scripts that may alter game play to give the user a distinct advantage over other players are prohibited. These scripts for example, may include anti-recoil scripts and mortar scripts. Persons using these scripts should be handled as a common offense (!warn, !kick, !ban) and not a hacking offense (immediate permanent ban).

warning Only admins with access to rcon and other resources should be determining if a player is using a prohibited script as this cannot be proven without access to these resources.

Sportsmanship

Like in any game or sport, there's something called good conduct & sportsmanship. This basically means that when you game you don't just play to have fun yourself, but you also help make Enemy Territory, as well as the Bunker's forums, more enjoyable for everyone. While we don't usually kick gamers who play with bad sportsmanship, you'll want to try and abide by the following code of conduct, because we only recruit people to become administrators who play like this.

On our servers, good sportsmanship is considered

  • Never breaking any rules
  • Respecting your fellow gamers
  • Acting mature
  • Not whining or complaining
  • Bringing problems to the forums instead of duking it out on the server.
  • Not asking for adminlevels
  • Motivating your team instead of complaining about them
  • Checking your targets and not accidentally killing teammates.
  • Not being a "Rambo Medic" and just killing, but instead being there for your team and reviving or giving out health wherever possible
  • Warning your team of important things
  • Understanding where to plant landmines, and not running over a teammate's landmines by accident.
  • Letting the covert op who killed his target take the uniform, regardless of how many bullets you put into that enemy.
  • Always supporting your team wherever you can

Forum Rules

The following rules are enforced on BunkerGaming forums by the moderators.

  • No excessive swearing/cursing/lewdness in any language.
  • No insulting players by calling them names or making racist/sexist comments, etc.
  • No posting of pornographic/sexist material.
  • No spamming by repeatedly posting the same thing or bumping dead topics for no particular reason.
  • No advertising or recruiting.

Good Conduct on the Forums

  • Refrain from typing all or much of your post in CAPS LOCK, BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE YELLING
  • Do not hold Shift For Every Word You Write, because this makes it Harder To Read as well...
  • Keep your replies on-topic. That means if someone starts a post about a problem in ET, don't reply with something concerning your computer screen malfunctioning
  • Keep all your current ideas in one topic or reply. If you reply to a topic saying something concerning a new ET mod coming out, and five minutes later you remember that there's also a website you could link to, don't put the link in a new reply; edit it in instead!
  • If you don't have something important to say about a topic that other people would want to hear, don't post it. High post counts are nice, but "Yes, I think so too. Panzers should be disabled." is not a proper reply to a topic.
  • When you argue about something, always consider the other person's opinion, and reinforce any arguments you make as well as possible
  • Always try to use proper English, especially if you come from. Express yourself in an understandable way.

Teamspeak and Ventrilo Rules

The following rules apply on the BunkerGaming TeamSpeak server (173.199.64.243:9234) , (ts63.gamespeak.com:9234)

  • No excessive swearing/cursing/lewdness in any language
  • Do not insult a player by calling him/her names, or make racist/sexist comments, etc.
  • Do not make real-life threats by any means available.
  • Do not play music loud enough that others can hear it (only allowed with the consent of the others participating).
  • No screaming/yelling into the microphone.
  • No spamming with text messages.
  • Do not make incomprehensible/strange noises with your microphone.
  • Failure to adjust your microphone so your background noises are muted out.

If You are Banned

If you have been banned yet wish to play on our servers again, you may appeal your ban. Keep in mind that you are responsible for your Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory account. Thus, you are also responsible for anyone using this account. Accusing someone else of playing and getting your account banned is not a valid excuse.

Got banned? Three steps before you do anything

  • Calm down.
  • Take a deep breath and count to ten.
  • Calm down.

Good. Now, first assess the situation. Is it a permanent ban? If it isn't, just wait it out and excuse yourself for your obvious mistake when you come back on. On the other hand, you did something seriously wrong and literally got your head a little far up an administrator's rear end if it is permanent. Now's the time to hit the forums at bunker.aaxxss.com. Find the appropriate forum, labeled Unban Requests, and start a topic.

Keep calm, and give a good and formal explanation of what you did wrong. Make it clear that you understand that it was your mistake, you know what you did wrong and you won't do it again. Don't even try accusing an administrator of wrongfully banning you. It was your mistake and yours alone, not anyone else's. Our admins are merely doing their duty. If you can get your shit together to make a proper post, you might just get un-banned. Good luck.

Adminlevels

Adminlevels are basically the way to divide administrative power into different levels on our servers, which is made easy thanks to Shrub- and ETPubmod. The higher a player's level, the more commands are available for him/her to use and administrate with. As will be mentioned below, they're not something we just hand out, and you shouldn't ask us to do so.

Adminlevel system on B1-server
Level Type Description
0-4 Regular Players While everyone starts at level 0 by default, the first four levels are for people who visit our server(s) on a regular basis and include some minor benefits, but no administrative commands.
5-9 Community Members These levels are awarded to those who always return to play on our server(s) every day and occasionally like to chat as well. However, they don't have any real administrative powers. Around this time, players are usually invited to wear the tag.
10-19+ Administrators Players with one of these levels were chosen and willing to become administrators, so they have a greater control over the game and can enforce the rules with a number of administrative powers. The amount of commands varies depending on the level.

warning Players MUST be invited to wear the tag via a successful invitation poll by senior administrators. Members are allowed to propose potential new members, final voting is completed by the admins. If you have not been invited to do so, please do not wear the Bunker Tag |>B<|.

Gaining Levels

Adminlevels are not for everyone. We're not dumb or ignorant; we know when you deserve a promotion and don't need you asking for it. The worst thing you could possibly do is ask on global in-game chat, since if we give it to you, everyone will start asking.

Show good sportsmanship, clearly look like you're having fun, and we may promote you, though please do not pester us. Asking for levels is the fastest way to ensure you will never get them.

Becoming an Admin

To become an administrator, you must first be a Bunker Member. If you are member and wish to be an admin, make sure you fulfill most, if not all, the following requirements:

  • Been playing on the Bunker servers for a considerable time.
  • Follow the rules.
  • Make intelligent and good posts on the forums
  • Have a good personality and understanding of others' feelings and opinions, and also enjoy communicating with people.
  • Respect ALL players
  • Be active on the website & forums (1+ times per day).
  • Significant knowledge of the English language, and thus can clearly post and talk with few spelling and grammar mistakes in a way that's easy to understand.
  • Preferably active on MSN Messenger/IRC for fast communication
  • Previous administrator experience (preferred)

What's next? Make it clear you'd be interested in administrating, and eventually you may get one of the administrator levels. If you don't know certain things about being a good admin yet, the high-level administrators are often willing to teach you and will answer any of your questions.

Responsibility

This section is added especially for the admins and players whom have “lost” their ETkeys, let their family or friends abuse it, or who just reinstall their ET 3 times a day. You and you only are responsible for your own ETkey! We assume that you never let your friends or family use it and you protect it with your life. If someone catches you cheating, spawnkilling, or misbehaving in any way, you will be taken responsible and measures will be taken.

Admins should refrain from abusive language, or they can be demoted. No admin should ever act on his own when the situation is not clear.
